Privacy Policy

Aura (getaura.beauty) is a personal colour analysis tool. We take your privacy seriously — especially because you're sharing a photo of yourself. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and who else sees it.
What we collect
Your photo
When you upload a selfie, it's stored temporarily in Vercel Blob storage. Photos are automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days — no exceptions, no manual step required. We do not use your photo for anything other than running your colour analysis and, if you purchase, generating your personalised style images.
Your email address
We collect your email to send your results. We may also send you a follow-up if you didn't complete your purchase. We will not add you to a marketing list without your explicit consent, and we will never sell your email to anyone.
Your colour and style preferences
If you complete our short quiz, we store your answers (style vibe, makeup comfort, hair preferences, etc.) alongside your session. This is used solely to personalise your results.
IP address
We log your IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting — for example, to stop someone from running hundreds of analyses in a short window. We do not use it to track you across sessions or share it with third parties.
Payment information
We never see or store your credit card details. All payments are processed directly by Stripe, who handle card data under their own PCI-compliant infrastructure. We receive only a confirmation that payment was successful and a Stripe transaction ID.
What happens to your photo during analysis
The free colour analysis uses face detection technology that runs entirely inside your browser. Your photo is processed locally on your device — it never leaves to be analysed for skin, hair, and eye colour. Only after you choose to upload it to us (by tapping the upload button) does your photo leave your device.
If you purchase a full analysis, your photo is sent to fal.ai — our AI image generation provider — to create your personalised style images. fal.ai processes your photo under their own privacy policy and does not retain it beyond the scope of completing your request.
Third-party services we use
Aura is built on a stack of third-party services. Here's what each of them sees:
Your uploaded photo (stored up to 30 days), server logs including IP address
Your payment card details and billing information — handled entirely on their side
Your email address and the content of the emails we send you
Your photo and the prompts used to generate your personalised style images
How long we keep your data
Photos: deleted automatically after 30 days from Vercel Blob storage.
Session data(your colour analysis results, quiz answers, email): retained so we can resend your results if needed and to handle any support issues. We don't have a hard cutoff on this yet — we'll update this policy when we do.
Payment records: retained as required by financial regulations, which typically means 7 years.
Your rights
You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing support@getaura.beauty. Tell us the email address you used and we'll remove your session data and request deletion of any stored photo.
If you're in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR — including the right to access, correct, or port your data. If you're in California, you have rights under CCPA. Email us and we'll help.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your photo with anyone other than the services listed above. We do not use your photo to train AI models. We do not run advertising or tracking pixels on this site.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies — essentially just what's needed to keep your session alive while you're using the app. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We won't change how we handle data you've already shared without notifying you directly.
